Eyes Free Mode for iPhone
The ICS-X7HD is available with support for Siri, the intelligent assistant that helps you get things done just by asking. Through the ICS-X7HD, customers with a compatible iPhone* running iOS 6 can direct Siri to perform a number of tasks while they safely keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel. To further minimize distraction, Siri takes hands-free functionality even further with an “Eyes Free Mode” which enables you to interact with your iPhone using nothing more than your voice while keeping your device’s screen from lighting up.

Aha Radio for iPhone
Aha by HARMAN™ can be launched through the iPhone on the ICS-X7HD and aggregates thousands of apps, giving you access to everything from web-based music, news, social media, podcasts, audio books and live weather information, to a customizable “Hungry” and “Hotel” station of nearby restaurants and hotels. Users simply install the free Aha App on their iPhone® to access the Aha content. When the iPhone® is connected to the ICS-X7HD via USB, the driver can store the phone and enjoy and control Aha directly from the ICS-X7HD.

It’s convenient to control your iPod or iPhone in the car – enjoy seamless operation of your iPod in addition to full control of all your favorite media sources. Control all search options of your iPod directly from the ICS-X7HD via Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Podcast or Composer. The USB connection allows for high-quality iPod playback and delivers an even faster access speed so you’ll find songs as quickly as you expect to find them on your iPod.
Get access to and control of all the songs from your iPod or iPhone right from the head unit! Large music libraries are no problem with a faster connection speed and QuickSearch featuring Alphabet Search, you can easily scroll through long lists of music by skipping through the letters of the alphabet. Note: MP3 device or cell phone can only be independently controlled through the head unit when using the USB connection, not with the AUX connection.

The ICS-X7HD uses a USB connection for newer iPods that provides ultra-fast digital data transfer so songs and video are loaded instantly through the receiver, on-screen. Thanks to USB, you can also alternatively plug in a USB thumb drive loaded with music.
App Direct Mode
Listen to even more music from your iPhone or iPod with App Direct Mode. This new feature offers basic app control (Play, Pause, Track Forward, Track Back) and displays metadata directly on the head unit from numerous third-party apps so that you can enjoy your drive even more and expand your listening choices without fumbling with your phone.

MirrorLink Connectivity for Android
MirrorLink uses Apps such as the Samsung Drive Link App, takes content from compatible smartphones and “mirrors” this information onto the ICS-X7HD’s 7-inch screen. At this point, the phone’s functions are transferred to the ICS-X7HD, for easy control from the dash and allowing the phone to be safely stored away. Phone functions that can be used via MirrorLink include navigation, music streaming and hands-free phone calls. MirrorLink is an automotive standard developed by the Car Connectivity Consortium. Hands-Free Calling Sound Customization
To bring sound balance to your hands-free experience, you can adjust the ICS-X7HD’s mic gain, phone output and ringtone volume. If that’s not enough, there are five sound quality settings to choose from to get the balance just right for you. This flexibility will make your phone calls a pleasurable experience.
If your car has factory Bluetooth steering wheel controls, then it will also control your new ICS-X7HD’s built-in Bluetooth. Or, control your head unit right from your factory installed steering wheel controls by adding a third party adapter. Use an adapter from popular brand names such as Soundgate or PAC to add this feature.

Smart Reception Management: A Better Way to Listen to HD Radio
Traditional HD Radio equipped tuners will use an auto-switching method when listening to the main & multi-casting channels. It works really well on the main channels, however when listening to a sub-channel, you will be switched back to the main channel if the digital signal is temporarily lost. This interruption can be a frustrating experience to stay engaged on a particular multi-casting channel if the digital signal is weak. Alpine’s solution provides Smart Reception Control through the default setting “Digital MC”. The Digital MC setting uses a Hybrid method of auto-switching analog and digital on the main channel, and uses all-digital for sub-channels. Alpine’s solution keeps you on the channel you desire, resulting in a better overall HD Radio experience.
Need a power boost?
With Alpine, expect the premium sound your ears deserve. This head unit allows you to customize your crossover adjustments so you can control where you send high and low frequencies, for the best sound from your ICS-X7HD. For a true power upgrade, just add-on the KTP-445A Power Pack to instantly increase your head unit’s power from 18W x 4 RMS to a true 45W x4 RMS (based on CEA-2006 power ratings). Now we’re talking about some serious sound!
